Bloodbath ongoing in Bitcoin price and what to do about it

After topping at 30 USD a few days ago, completing an epic ride from almost zero one year ago, the Bitcoin price is now dropped to 13,7 USD and all the bets are off about where /why it will bottom.
Some plausible interpretation of what is happening in the Bitcoin market is currently discussed on the forum.


Not surprisingly, the Alexa siterank for Bitcoin.org shows an exponential growth very similar to its price curve:

My 2 cents of explanation about the current drop points to some bad news that made the rounds in these days, just before the price crash:

This news drawed the attention on the fact that a bitcoin "wallet" is just a file who sits unencrypted in your hard disk (unless you take special precautions, like encrypt it and/or creating several Bitcoin accounts /wallets, and/or trusting a third party like Mybitcoin), so stealing it is easy like copying a file, that may even done remotely by some virus. This may have discouraged many prospective users/investors and should be urgently addressed by Bitcoin developers in my view (like offering the option to keep the wallet file encrypted and password protected). 

Nonetheless, I remain enthusiastic about Bitcoin and remain invested in them.


If you decide to give it a try, just remember to keep your wallet encrypted, ideally making a portable bitcoin app-wallet with the following steps, once you installed the official Bitcoin client from Bitcoin.org:



1) Create an empty folder on your flashdrive called "Bitcoin".
2) Create folders "APP" and "DATA" in the "Bitcoin" folder.
3) Copy all files from "AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin" into "DATA" folder.
4) Copy all files from "Program Files\Bitcoin" into "APP" folder.
5) Open a new Notepad document and paste the following launch code:

start %cd%\APP\bitcoin.exe -server -datadir="%cd%\DATA"
EXIT

6) Save document in the newly created "Bitcoin" folder as "launch.bat".
7) Run "launch.bat" to run Bitcoin.

8) Password-protect the thumbdrive.


9) Remember to keep several backup copies of your wallet file in different places (obviously encrypted too).

           I.            Backup target location (Where you will put the encrypted backup file)

         II.            Archiving tool that supports encryption – 7zip is recommended

1.       Shut down your bitcoin client

a.       In most clients, the best way to do this is to click “File” > “Exit”

2.       Find your bitcoin “wallet.dat” file

a.       For windows users, C:\Users\*username*\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin\ (Vista & 7), or C:\Documents and Settings\*username* \Application data\Bitcoin (XP)

b.      For Mac users, ~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/

c.       For Linux users, ~/.bitcoin/

3.       Encrypt the wallet.dat file with 7zip (or your preferred application)

a.       Right click the wallet.dat file and under the 7-zip submenu, select “add to archive…”

b.      In the menu that appears, enter the  password you would like to use in the bottom right text box, in the “encryption” settings area.

c.       As a recommendation for passwords, use at least 10 characters, capitals and lower case, symbols and numbers. Do not use words, names or places you frequent!

d.      Click “OK”

4.       After the encryption process is complete, copy the encrypted file (it should be in the same place as the original wallet.dat) to your backup medium, whether it is a USB Drive, a dropbox folder, or whatever else.

a.       For added security, rename the file before uploading it!

5.       To restore the backup, simply extract the file by opening it with 7-zip and dragging the file to the folder you want to place it in. If you replace a freshly installed wallet.dat with your backup, the client should recognize transactions that are assigned to it and you should have access to your coins again.

6.    Repeat this backup process at least every 100 transactions!

Libya ‘rape’ propaganda plunges to new depths of desperation

Hat tip to Scott Creighton – his recent article ‘CNN’s Misogynistic Cell Phone Porn Propaganda‘, brought this to my attention.
The anti-Gaddafi propaganda drive has plunged to new depths of cynicism, depravity, and a downright embarrassing lack of credibility.
Over a week after the ICC’s completely baseless claims of ‘rape being used as a weapon’ by Gaddafi’s forces, today CNN is running a propaganda set-piece that is so blatantly invented it makes one cringe with embarrassment for this rabble of liars and propagandists.
CNN claims that rebel forces have found mobile phone footage on ‘Gaddafi loyalists’, which allegedly shows them ‘raping women and torturing people’. Lo and behold, the story completely falls apart upon the most cursory inspection.
CNN plainly admits that they “cannot confirm when or where the video was shot“. To make matters worse for the propagandists behind this nonsense, there is no date to the video, and the men in the video are not even wearing Libyan Army clothing – they are dressed in civilian attire. But it gets better.
Their story revolves completely around this unverifiable mobile phone footage, and the testimony of NATO’s proxy ‘rebels’. On top of this CNN doesn’t reveal who their source is, and instead they parrot baseless claims from rebel spokespeople:

“We were able to confirm that rape was used as a weapon of war because it was systematic.”

Without performing even the most basic journalistic duty of providing evidence, CNN simply forwards this completely unfounded claim from a rebel spokesperson.
According to CNN, Al-Kabeir also tells us:

The rebels have many videos showing other types of torture, and a few depict rape, he said. He did not know exactly how many videos there were showing abuse.

But his next admission really exposes this utter fabrication for what it is (emphasis added):

“There was a commander here at the eastern front in Misrata named Mohamed al-Halboos; he ordered all the (rebel) fighters to give him all the rape videos they find on Gadhafi soldiers’ cell phones. I heard that he used to destroy every rape video he got,“

We are supposed to believe that Gaddafi’s forces are ‘systematically’ raping women in Libya, but all of the evidence has been destroyed.
It’s not just CNN that’s partaking in this onslaught of propaganda. Today, Time is running some similar ‘just trust us’ journalism. See the following report regarding doctors working in Benghazi (emphasis added):

They talk for hours about the rape of women. But it’s only stories. They have never met a victim.The medics don’t deny that others in the hospital may have treated rape victims. But they say the stigma of sexual assault runs so deep in Libyan culture that the raped are virtually forced into social exile, unable to wed, a humiliation to their entire family, choosing to remain silent rather than to give voice to the crime they have suffered.

That the likes of CNN and Time even expect anybody to believe this farcical nonsense demonstrates the contempt in which they hold their audience. The sheer laziness of this propaganda reflects how desperate NATO now is, spectacularly failing to achieve its objective of regime change using the ‘humanitarian intervention’ myth.

The University of Virginia, after vigorously resisting a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for data related to the emails of Michael Mann, was the subject of a court order to make them available. While global warming is known worldwide for its claim that manmade warming would doom the Earth, the names and machinations behind the fraud are far less well known.


Mann, a climatologist, was part of a relatively small clique of charlatans who, working for the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), conjured up all manner of “proof” that the Earth was on dangerous trajectory, heating up. Mann invented the “hockey stick” graph that demonstrated this bit of climate magic.


With Al Gore as the most famous face of global warming, Mann and others lent credibility to the IPCC that called for massive reductions in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions resulting from energy use of fossil fuels, primarily oil and coal.


Mann’s problem began when the “hockey stick” graph was debunked and demolished as bogus. All this occurred while Mann was on the faculty of the University of Virginia and while large amounts of research grant money were being received by the University to support Mann and others.


Since 1990, it is estimated that $100 billion of taxpayer’s funding went to support “climate research” by thousands of scientists who, it turned out, were unable to find and certainly not measure any evidence of human influence on global temperature.


The same thing was occurring across the Atlantic in England where the University of East Anglia was home to Mann’s IPCC co-conspirators. On May 25th, the Guardian reported that Nobel Laureate, Sir. Paul Nurse, complained that the British version of FOI was being used to “harass” some climate scientists by requesting data and other research materials.


Given the collusion of both the University of Virginia and of East Anglia, it should come as no surprise that both institutions held their own boards of inquiry and cleared the climate scientists on their staffs of any wrongdoing. That explains why the court had to drag them into demonstrating the probity of their activities.


This is far from a spat between some universities and their scientists, and "skeptics" challenging the global warming fraud. It most certainly is a fraud when global warming claims are used to impose a huge cost to consumers when utilities and other large emitters of carbon dioxide are required by law to utilize “alternative” sources such as wind and solar power or to install multi-million dollar technologies to needlessly reduce CO2 emissions.


David B. Rivkin Jr. and Lee A. Casey, who have brought a lawsuit, American Electric Power v. Connecticut, all the way to the Supreme Court, note that “it is impossible to determine whether emissions by any particular power plant—or U.S. electricity production as a whole—have affected warming trends and, if so, how.” A decision is pending.


The global warming movement, which at one point involved a scheme to sell “carbon credits” to industry and businesses so they could continue to emit CO2, enriched those selling the credits in both the U.S. and Europe until the global warming movement began to implode in November 2009. The exchanges selling the credits closed their doors.


It was in November 2009 that a huge cache of emails between Mann and other IPCC scientists was imported to the Internet where it rapidly became clear that they were very worried that the Earth had entered a natural cooling cycle in 1998 and discussed how to pressure scientific journals to not publish the research of skeptics refuting the global warming hypothesis.


The IPCC continues to propagate global warming lies, only now it is called “climate change.” Any public figure that uses the term “climate change” is lying if for no other reason than the climate of the Earth has been and is always in a state of change.


As courts in the U.S. and England continue to require the global warming charlatans and their universities to make known their alleged “scientific research” and email exchanges, a larger question looms. Should not such activity be deemed a deliberate fraud and should not injured parties, including the whole populations of America and England have a standing in court to see that they are punished?


Unanswered is the role that the mass media played in spreading and defending global warming. On Memorial Day, when we celebrate the sacrifice of fallen heroes to preserve liberty, the Washington Post published a bizarre editorial criticizing “climate skeptics” for using the FOIA to find out why Mann and the University of Virginia received funding while participating in a massive deception. Unmentioned were comparable Greenpeace FOIA efforts against climate skeptics.


It's worth noting that the global warming/climate change fraud is still being perpetrated in American schools from coast to coast.


Already, a number of Republican candidates for the presidency have refuted global warming or an earlier role in advocating it. For too long, politicians have not just been wrong, but often deliberately ignorant of the truth.


Justice may be slow, but it will be served and that is a lesson the entire scientific community should take note. As more revelations occur, even the mainstream media will be unable to protect the global warming/climate change perpetrators or to be their co-conspirators.

I and others in the real truth movement have been placing articles in blogs and everywhere possible in the alternative media warning people of the dire consequences that America faces with its impending total economic collapse.  What people still do not understand, because of the fluff and BS placed in their minds by the controlled media, is that the collapse is happening right now!

But there have been some recent publications that I came across recently that are extremely alarming, and may show what will happen to the United States itself very soon.  It seems that according to this article from the website: Farm Wars, at www.farmwars.info, the United States government is about to allow large areas of America itself to be sold off to Communist China so that China can build "special economic zones" right in America itself!   The implications of such a deal with the Chinese is astounding, and I have that entire article right here for everyone to view:

Let’s quit being polite and call this maneuver by corporate governments exactly what it is ~ treason. Nothing more, nothing less. Selling off pieces of America to a foreign government so that government can plant a sovereign city inside our country that is not subject to our laws amounts to treason.

Thanks to the trillions of dollars that the Chinese have made flooding our shores with cheap products, China is now in a position of tremendous economic power. So what is China going to do with all of that money?

One thing that they have decided to do is to buy up pieces of the United States and set up “special economic zones” inside our country from which they can continue to extend their economic domination.

One of these “special economic zones” would be just south of Boise, Idaho and the Idaho government is eager to give it to them. China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach for short) plans to construct a “technology zone” south of Boise Airport which would ultimately be up to 50 square miles in size.

The Chinese Communist Party is the majority owner of Sinomach, so the 10,000 to 30,000 acre “self-sustaining city” that is being planned would essentially belong to the Chinese government. The planned “self-sustaining city” in Idaho would include manufacturing facilities, warehouses, retail centers and large numbers of homes for Chinese workers. Basically it would be a slice of communist China dropped right into the middle of the United States. (End of America)

WHAT DOES SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE ~ SEZ ~  MEAN?

A Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is a geographical region that has economic and other laws that are more free-market-oriented than a country’s typical or national laws. “Nationwide” laws may be suspended inside a special economic zone…

In the People’s Republic of China, Special Economic Zones were founded by the central government under Deng Xiaoping in the early 1980s. The most successful Special Economic Zone in China, Shenzhen, has developed from a small village into a city with a population over 10 million within 20 years. India has also played a significant role in the founding and establishment of Special Economic Zones. It has the largest outsourcing industry in Asia. (Wikipedia)

So, if China gets its way in Idaho, we will have sections of America belonging to a communist foreign government whose residents and the corporations that employ them do not have to abide by our national laws. The term “sovereign immunity” comes to mind.

Not only will people living in this country be exempt from our laws, but the land will be designated a “free trade zone.”

And just whom do you think this special economic zone, or “labor intensive manufacturing center,” will be employing?

Those who live in its jurisdiction, and those who follow its laws.

Not our laws, but China’s.

Do you think that anyone other than a Chinese national will live in this zone?

If you do, I’ve got some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you.

Do you think that the pay for jobs in the zone will be equivalent to America’s pay scale?

Is China’s?

No.

And China’s standard will exist in the zone.

This is not a boom to Idaho, but a death knell for those who are rapidly losing jobs to overseas outsourcing, only this will be so much more convenient for the mega-corporations.

Just import China to America, make this little piece of China exempt from our national laws, and get away with what you got away with in China, sans the travel time. If this isn’t an end-run around national laws that benefit we the people, I don’t know what is.

Change from the inside out. If Mohammed can’t go to the mountain, just bring the mountain to Mohammed and declare it sovereign territory.

Let’s take a look at what really goes on inside the zone:

Labour Abuse

In addition to real estate speculation, zones also produced other problems. Ironically for an avowedly communist regime, abuse of labour is rampant in Chinese SEZs [ICFTU 2003]. Seven million people out of Shenzhen’s total population of 12 million are migrant workers, with almost no legal or social protection [French 2006].

1992 data for the Guangdong province, home of Shenzhen, shows very high death rates among industrial workers and more than 500,000 child labourers ~ a phenomenon which had been greatly reduced in post-revolutionary China [Weil 1996].

In 2003, at least half the firms in Shenzhen owed their employees wage arrears [ICFTU 2003], and at least one-third of Chinese zone workers received less than minimum wage [Jayanthakumaran 2003].

The labour turnover rate is more than 10 per cent [French 2006]. Indeed, Shenzhen workers are so desperate that despite the lack of any independent unions, more than 10,000 wildcat strikes took place in 2006 alone [ibid].

This labour abuse is accompanied, unsurprisingly, by crime. Shenzhen now has a crime rate that is nine times higher than that of Shanghai, and is notorious for the trafficking of women and sex trade [Goswami 1997]. Relaxed customs have also led to large-scale smuggling; two of the original zones, Shantou and Xiamen, were hit by massive tax and smuggling frauds in 2000 and 1999 respectively [Business China 2006].

COULD YOU LIVE ON CHINESE WAGES?

As different parts of China have very different standards of living, China does not set one minimum wage for the entire nation. Instead, the task of setting minimum wages is delegated to the local governments. Each province, municipality, or region sets its own minimum wage in accordance with its own local conditions.

But what goes on in the zone stays in the zone. Or does it? Well, sort of. Companies can move workers to and from any free trade zone in the country, and according to Marti Oakley of the PPJ Gazette,

Inside these free trade zones they are required to hire only a maximum of 10 US citizens. They bring these people in on EB-5 visas that avoid customs and immigration. After two years if they haven’t been in any trouble they are given citizenship and may move anywhere in the country.

Just what type of economic boom is this sell-off of American soil to a foreign government supposed to be to the people of Idaho? And do you actually think that the people living in these zones will be buying anything outside of the zone? At these wages, could you? Live in the zone, work in the zone, play in the zone, and do what China SEZ.

So the question is: What will you do when you are surrounded by Chinese zones that are not subject to our national laws right outside your front door if/when China decides that America is no longer its “friend?”

NTS Notes:  I remember as a child how I would read reports about how the Communist Chinese would eventually be at war with America, and that they would defeat America in such a war.  Well... If the US Federal and State governments allow such a horrible deal to be passed, the Chinese will be able to finally realize their long sought after dream of conquering America without even firing one shot!

I have written in the past of the work situation in China, some of the human rights abuses, horrendous working conditions that have companies like workers who fabricate Apple iPads and iPhones sign pledges to not kill themselves and surrounding buildings with huge expanses of nets to catch any who jump from their living quarters.

What a mess. America is being bankrupted to fight Israel’s wars of aggression, its youth and future being sucked dry of their blood, health and will to live; meanwhile, China is being given carte blanche to set up shop on the land they are told they are protecting.
